Andrew Akroyd

Andrew grew up in the middle of BC in a small town at the entrance to the Wells Gray Park. After graduation he moved to Vancouver Island in 2009. He now runs Purple Pigeon Treasures in the downtown core of Ladysmith BC. He now spends his spare time repurposing broken or undesirable items into unique and interesting items for others to enjoy!

April Akroyd

April Akroyd was born on the island in Port Alberni, but spent her entire life growing up in the Ladysmith

area. As a young child she lived right on the ocean on Brenton Page Road. As a teen, her home was the old original farmhouse on Davis Road. Even while working for others, it was very typical for April to volunteer often and to give-back to her community.

As a young girl, she would dream of someday owning her own shop, as she would walk through downtown Ladysmith. April is definitely a "people person" and wanted to provide a happy fun shopping experience, with something for every age. She wanted to open a shop that would encourage people to bring their children with them. Her favourite thing in the world was to see smiling happy people succeeding in life.
